The neck plate says made in Japan. The body is ply but I don't know what wood the neck is made from, although the fretboard is the right colour to be rosewood. The back of the neck is varnished but the headstock is unvarnished. From memory, I was going to use the guitar for slide work and also decided to re-position the middle pickup. However, as I mainly played bass and had another better guitar, I didn't do much more with it. It subsequently got put in my parent's attic and stayed there for over 30 years. Sadly, time has not treated it kindly. All the metal surfaces are corroded (including the tuners and to a lesser degree the frets). At some point, the higher strings rusted and broke and the pressure of the lower strings has pulled the nut off sideways. (To be honest, that's no great loss as its a nasty plastic nut and I think the previous owner had done a poor job of filing the slots and it needs to be replaced.) The body has a number of attic related knocks and dinks but nothing major. There is also a knock on the back of the neck which probably hasn't damaged the wood but has cracked the lacquer. The ferrule for the top string tuner is missing, as is the truss rod adjustment cover, the back cover and the plastic tip of the pickup selector. I don't have the tremelo arm either. Surprisingly, the electrics still work. It look like I disconnected the neck pickup when I moved the middle pickup (I honestly can't remember why). I think I may have wired the bridge pickup and the (relocated) middle pickup together in some way. (When the selector switch is in the middle position, it gives a much fuller sound than in the back position.) Obviously, as the front pickup is disconnected, putting the selector switch in the front position does nothing. The action is reasonable and should be fine for chords but there is a bit of fret buzz on the lower strings above the 12th fret. I'm hoping someone can make use of it - either as a ready made "relic", for parts or as a restoration/learning project. At the very least, it will need the nut glued back on and a new set of strings. ---------------- WANTED: Any car items at https://www.ilovefreegle.org/message/51289363?u=624099&src=digest Wheels, speakers, subwoofers anything will come in to good use please.. if you have anything feel free to contact me, thanks for looking ---------------- Offer: Child's playhouse (Ewell KT17) at https://www.ilovefreegle.org/message/51287769?u=624099&src=digest We have a wooden childs playhouse that is no longer required.
