| Using Freegle in lockdown We have decided that as tips are staying open, Freegle will be staying open for the lockdown.
We provided a vital service to reuse things and during the last lockdown, there was a huge increase in fly tipping. We hope by staying open to avoid that this time.
We are adding a few extra rules though. Please stick to posting on your home group only. Posts from areas outside the main area we cover, will be refused until lockdown ends. Even if only a short drive away. If you have a closer group, please use it.
Please only collect from outside whilst exercising. Do not enter another members home or you risk both catching coronavirus and a huge fine. If the item needs dismantling or is heavy, the owner will have to get it outside for collection themselves, without the help of the person taking the item, or it cannot be offered on the group until lockdown ends.
Please make sure all items you collect are cleaned thoroughly or quarantined for a few days before use.
If we all follow the guidance Freegle will remain open, but our staying open depends on you. We are constantly re-evaluating the situation.
Please Freegle sensibly and stay safe.
