There are 7 shelves including the base and the shelves are adjustable. There is a small dink on the left base (looking at it) the wood has slightly swollen and the surface has split - see photo - a bit of black paint would cover it. It needs slightly tightening which I'm guessing can be done through the base. I'm happy to answer questions or provide further photos.
