NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. So if you wish to declutter your desk, and you have maybe a desk top and a laptop or maybe two desk tops PCs, this could be useful. The video connection supported is VGA (see the picture). It is NOT HDMI. Two buttons on top of the gadget to cause the peripherals to jump between input 1 and input 2. I think there is also a keyboard shortcut you can use, but I forget what it is. I'm sure some googling will sort that. Comes with all necessary cables. I will not need any again for a while. The lid was very difficult to get off having been on for quite a while. It is back on now but the seal is not great so a slight skin will have formed.
